The Academy is pleased to announce that HCPCS add-on code G2211 has been officially approved for use with home visit E/M services, effective January 1, 2026.

Originally introduced in 2024 to reflect the complexity of longitudinal, relationship-based care, G2211 initially excluded home visits. Through sustained advocacy by the Academy’s Public Policy Committee and strong member support, this oversight has now been corrected.

Clinicians providing home-based primary care may now append G2211 to eligible home visit E/M services. This change is expected to increase reimbursement by approximately 10% (about $15 per visit, regionally adjusted) and represents an important recognition of the complexity of care delivered in the home.
